What We Are Looking For:

GHSMSS Conferences brings together medical staff services and credentialing professionals from across the greater Houston, TX area and beyond. Speaking opportunities are open to individuals actively involved in credentialing, privileging, quality, peer review, and practitioner or provider organizations. Anyone who is aligned with healthcare regulatory compliance is encouraged to inquire.

We are looking for speakers with varied presentations to meet the needs of GHSMSS members in the areas of:

  • Credentialing
  • State and Federal Regulations as it pertains to Medical Staff Practitioners
  • State Medical and Dentistry Licensing Agencies
  • Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA)
  • Healthcare Accrediting Bodies (TJC, DNV, NCQA, URAC, etc.)
  • Peer Review – Lessons Learned/ Case Studies
  • Advanced Practice Providers – Privileging processes
  • College and Universities: Certifications and Degree Plans for MSPs to consider
  • Healthcare Recruiting Professionals: Trends In Non-Clinical Healthcare Hiring
  • Professional Development: How to Enhance Your Chance When Applying, Interviewing and Securing Your Desired Position
  • Wellness/Life Coach Professionals: How To Be Resilient When The Whole World Depends on Healthcare Professionals

 

Below you will find a few considerations to keep in mind when submitting topics for review:

  • Presentation Length -  50 minutes to allow for a 10 minute questions and answering session.
  • Preferred Format - Typically, presentations at GHSMSS have been done using PowerPoint, but GHSMSS is open to innovation and welcome new approaches to conference participation and engagement. If your presentation would be better suited as an open roundtable discussion or using a moderating panel approach we would like to discuss.  

 

Submission Criteria

Keeping in line with our State and National Associations (TSMSS and NAMSS)Sessions must be educational in nature and must not include any sales, product, or marketing/promotional information. Speakers are encouraged to prepare and present original material. Ownership of all session materials remains with the authors/presenters.”

If you are selected as a one hour presenter for any conferences, GHSMSS offers the following:

  • Complimentary Full Conference Registration. Including (if offered): Meals, CEs and random drawings.
  • An honorarium, not to exceed, $500 for the speaker to use to help offset costs associated with conference participation
    • If a speaker has more than one presentation selected, they may receive, up to, an addition $200/presentation
    • Please note, for virtual conferences, the stipend is, not to exceed, $250 for a one-hour presentation and $100 per additional topics.

Please note one-hour Virtual GHSMSS Spotlight Series is offered throughout the year should you want to be considered for events other than our Half and Full Day conferences.
